Since there are a lot of surfers reading my posts on the internet cafe business here in the Philippines, I just thought of giving you guys some tips in other investment options before you decide where you put your hard earned money.
MUTUAL FUNDS! MUTUAL FUNDS!
For those who are not very familiar with the money market, mutual funds are a good start. To put it in layman\’s term… when you invest in a mutual fund, your money along with other people\’s money are pooled and placed in investments that are usually out of reach for ordinary people (ex. T-Bills cost Php 100,000 minimum). The fund is invested on blue chips companies (Big companies like: San Miguel etc.), in goverment securities (it\’s like you are lending the government your money, with this you are sure that the government can pay you back w/ interest? why? guess who makes the money? ^_^)… and other investments depending on the funds objectives. Some of the advantage that attracted me on this investment are:
1. You have expert people to manage your investment (unlike stocks).
2. It is diversified, meaning it is much safer than stocks.
3. It is much better than putting your money on banks \’coz M.F. beats inflation better.
4. You can invest as low as Php 5000 (initial) and as low as Php 1000 (additional).
5. It is tax free.
To know more about mutual funds and how to invest your hard earn money… I highly recommend that you read Mr. Colayco\’s book .. Wealth Within Your Reach, \”Pera mo Palaguin Mo\”… that are available on National Bookstores, PowerBooks and other leading bookstores.
